Ombudsman

In a long-term care facility, nursing home, or home health environment, you may have needs that are not being met or rights that are being violated. If you feel that you are not being adequately cared for, you can file a complaint with the state ombudsman who will mediate between you and the group you file a complaint against. The ombudsman examines the evidence and attempts to resolve any issues.

The ombudsman can also refer you to the relevant regulatory body or law enforcement agency if you believe that your long-term care provider has violated your rights or broken legal regulations. The Alabama long-term care ombudsman office site can be found here.
